The students will be working on a construction project linked to transportation during our unit, ‘How we organize ourselves’ in their Arab Studies class. Once the initial designs are complete, they will be bringing their drawings home so that they can collect some recycled materials to build their model. Please hang on to your recyclables and interesting bits for the next couple of weeks so that you will be able to send in the right materials for your child’s project. Thank you in advance for your support. Ms. Mufida and Ms. Khawlah The KG2 children will have the opportunity to visit the Souk on Tuesday 12th Jan and are encouraged to bring between 10-20 AED to spend on the day.
Thank you in advance for your support. HOW WE ORGANISE OURSELVESThis coming week in KG2 we will be starting our new unit of inquiry
'How we organise ourselves' with the focus being on Transportation Systems. The Unit of Inquiry will focus on the Central Idea; ‘Transportation systems vary based on the environment and people's needs.’ We will be emphasising some of the key concepts through this unit of inquiry, these being Function (how does it work?), Form (What is it like?), Connection (How is it connected?) and Reflection (How do we know?). Our lines of Inquiry are:-Transporting people, animals and things(Form/Function) -Constructing transportation systems (Connection) -Making transportation choices (Reflection) -Measuring weight, distance and time(causation/reflection) Through investigation, discussion and exploration we will be looking at how these systems are important to the needs of our community. Over the next few weeks we will be engaging in learning experiences to familiarise ourselves with different transportation systems. Ask your child about what they are constructing in the classroom or in the outdoor discovery area. There will be a upcoming field trip requiring parent help, this will be sent out soon. Home Links
