This week we have been learning how to tell the time to the hour on digital and analogue clocks. We have played games, made clocks and matched o'clock times. This was one group in action... This week we carried out multiple light experiments. We tested different materials to find which were transparent, translucent and opaque by shining a light source on them. We recorded our results and discussed our findings. We also went to the playground to find out about shadows. We found out that our shadow moved throughout the day and we discussed why. Here we are in action... We had a wonderful Book Character Dress Up Day. Have a great break with your families and I will see you all in a few weeks.
Today we visited the Jumeirah Turtle Rehabilitation Center. We saw different sized turtles that have all been rescued in the UAE. Some had been hit by boats, some had barnacles on their shells and some had eaten rubbish in the ocean. We fed them lettuce, carrots and squid. We are continuing to look after our plants in the front playground. We have also been observing how the plants are changing, growing buds and having new flowers. Here are a few pictures of us in action...
The children had their KG2 sports day this morning. Everyone was a fantastic participant and tried their best! We had great fun. Yesterday we had a fabulous visit to EMEG Ghantoot Nature Reserve. We saw four sea turtles that were being cared for to remove the barnacles from their shells. We watched a presentation about the wild life that lives in the UAE and what EMEG are doing to help them. We had a positive impact by doing a beach clean up and after lunch we helped to remove algae from the Mangrove plants. While we were doing this we saw some flamingoes in the water.
A huge thank you to everyone for our wonderful gifts. We have an amazing group of children that brighten our days and we are blessed to teach them. Have a wonderful holiday and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year! Love Ms. Hannah and Ms. Florence We had a wonderful trip yesterday using various transport around Dubai. We used a school bus, metro, abra and tram to journey around the city and we thought about why Dubai used these types of transport rather than other types. We saw lots of construction transport too! Here we are inquiring and exploring! |
